My Harley is air cooled and has a carburetor on it though!

Sitting in traffic, or still with a liquid cooled bike, or 4wheeler, when the fan kicks on there is a nice little heat wave that comes out of it to go your way... It can be really hot in the summer. It toasts your legs!

The Water Wetter easily dropped down the average high running temperature of my VFR800's a solid 10* Fahrenheit. This helps to keep those bikes radiator fans from constantly coming on to throw heat out at me when I am riding them slow, or stopped in traffic.

My riding days were in southern California where lane splitting is legal. So, no getting caught in heavy traffic, unless the entire freeway is blocked. Then you just shut down.

Thanks BlueRidgeMark, I’ll definitely go over all those. It’d be nice if it were just a dirty ground, but I’m not getting my hopes up yet — I’ll report back on that.

the water wetter can’t hurt! If it works, then all the better, when I change the the trans fluid I’ll throw some in.

ive read switching from Dex/mec to atf-4 can cause slippage, but I don’t know what’s in there now...Looking at service records from previous owners, I find it strange mechanics don’t tell you or write in your forms what was used. If I just go with the dex/mec is that safe even if let say its been running atf-4? How can I tell? It’s red fluid which I know the d/m is.

Just run the Dex/Merc. When you have time, flush it. See my sig, #3.

One thing my brother just told me. The AW4 is the same basic transmission used in the small Toyota pickups that the ragheads in the mid-east used. Do you think THEY got any kinds of maintenance?

They are better off. They don't have Chrysler telling them to use ATF4, or whatever it is!

I’ve noticed a small leak at the rear main seal. I don’t think it’s coming from the valve seal and the oil filter ring has been replaced recently (which I was hoping was the only cause). It’s not bad enough to leave oil on the ground when parked yet, but I notice after a thousand+ miles it was getting a little low.
any foreseeable issues here?

going to clean all the grounds tonight hopefully

So my electrical problem seems to be getting worse, now as I’m idling I can see my battery dial slowly dropping. Could this be just a bad voltage regulator if the alt was testing fine?
