Window Vents/Wind Shields
So I bought a set of window vents or wind shields what ever you want to call them. Only issue is that they came with no instructions. Every video I watched has me just peeling off the 3M double sided tape and applying it to the exterior of the window frame (after cleaning). This however does not stick at all. I have also seen them being installed in the window as well. Where it slides into the window track.
I have a 96xj and the front windows have the little vent window in the front that does not move. Does anybody have any experience installing these on their XJ? I have either A. been sold a wrong set, or B. am just plain stupid...

If they are the smoke tinted plastic ones, I believe they fit all years of XJ, whether they have the wing windows or not.
They stick on the outside of the window frame with the tape that comes mounted on them..........
You do have to make sure the window frame is perfectly clean of any wax or oil or anything..........
If you bought them new, they should have come with an alcohol pad, and instructions...
If the tape is ruined from trying to stick it on, you can get some 3M molding tape............It's for body-side molding, and emblems. It sticks very permanently......
Also, make sure it's not cold outside while you are trying to stick them on.......

That wouldn't melt or change the color of the actual plastic visit? I have seen a heat gun actually change the color of faded fender flares.
So while on the subject if any of you have faded fender flares, if you hit it with a heat gun you'll be able to get it to change to a darker more original color. Bleepin jeep has a how to video on you tube.

Just heat it enough to help activate the adhesive, if you can't touch it comfortably as you press it on it is too hot.
