Safelite reinstalled my windshield today with the moulding from GGG suggested by Texastaz38
The GGG moulding is, indeed, a better fit. However, it also does not sit exactly flat in the corner. Worse, however, is that the 1st mouldling has left my paint stained. It was wider, and the installer let windshield primer touch the back of the moulding that made contact with my paint.
Safelite claims no knowledge as to what is the origin of the stain and no ability to remove. I went to a body shop that confirms the source of the stain as Windshield Primer. They suggested nail polish remover to remove the stain, but I am very hesitant to put nail polish remover on the paint of my vehicle.
Does anybody know how to remove Windshield Primer from Auto Paint?
Texastaz38: Should the GGG Moulding lay flat?

Mother's Claybar and Detailing Spray... 4 hrs buffing... 23 year old XJ getting closer to being put back to state it was prior to a "simple windshield replacement".
I think the Glass Installer should have known how to remove primer, but they claimed they did not know origin of stain. Apparently, buffing is outside of the scope of windshield replacement. Spill primer on a customers vehicle and claim zero responsibility.
Moulding still doesn't lay as flat as it should, and there is a bit more primer to remove across top.

Give it time for m sure it'll shrink up. Mine finally shrunk and tightened.
My problem now is the rear liftgate window. Safelite's quote is over $300 to replace. I could buy a liftgate with glass for $100-$150. Just haven't found one the same color.
