Windshield leaks

Windshield leaks
I have a new to me 1989 laredo. When it rains the headliner gets wet along the windshield. The shield is in great shape, just one small chip. What is the best way to fix this? I am assuming it is the seal along the top. Does the glass need to be taken fully out to repair properly.
Thanks!

hey, take it to a glass shop and just have them run a new bead of urethane across the inside. i work at a glass shop in SLC Utah and yea, they shouldnt charge you more that 10, 20 bucks

In the past I have used this stuff from autozone called "windshield and glass sealer" It is silicone that runs more than normal so it seeps down further into the leaks. Used it one my XJ last week and drove about 600 miles in the rain on the highway with no leaks!

Would I the apply the silicone between the roof and the trim or between the trim and the windshield? Is it easy to remove and replace the trim or is that not an option?
Thanks

it's probably rusted under the windshield. mine was leaking until i had it replaced. that's when i seen the rust hole.
used tin tape to cover the hole and had the installer use extra silicone to seal it all up. no leaks anymore.

actually, we just melted rubber bands and used a kitchen spatula to apply it to the windshield before we set it in place.
it was installed by a professional guy who came to my house to do it.
just like shake and bake, i helped.
