if that relay is bad would it cause the washer not to work also?

Cool deal Timber, thanks. I'll have to hit the jy soon then. Supposed to get crushed by this damn storm coming tonight though, so may have to wait till the weekend. LoL, im with you, I would rather hit the jy and grab one for 3 bucks than spend 70 on a brand new one. Shoot, 80% of my xj is jy parts. AND, considering I spent 400 bucks on the entire rig...

I was not sure so I went out and unplugged mine and the pump does not work,plugged back in and it is fine.

Makes sense. If you look up the wiring diagrams associated with the module, it shows EVERYTHING having to do with washer/wipers goes through it.

SUCCESS!!! I replaced the intermittent wiper module with one I found off a later model xj and it worked like a charm! Thanks timber! I also grabbed a coupe more, just in case. They were like 4 bucks a piece so I said what the heck, i'll grab em. Chilly day at the jy, but well worth it!
