wipers staying on and p0171/p0172 codes?
alright i submerged my 96xj in stank water the other day and after winching out i had to turn on my wipers and they didnt work unless i turned them to max speed(has intermittent wipers) and they turned on and then i had to turn the key off to shut them off. I was ok with that for a while seeing as it wasnt raining and wasnt expecting any rain soon so this morning I turn the key on and the wipers are running constantly now with the switch off and i never touched it. i banged the switch around a bit to no prevail and even worked through the different pulses and on/off etc. and nothing. shut the key off and turned it back on and it still comes on. after research i read theres a box somewhere under the dash for the intermittent part of the wipers but couldnt find info on a location exactly. I also read about the silver circuit breaker in location 20 in the panel but a breaker is constant closed until hot so that theoretically cannot be my issue but I will pull it out for now. Any ideas? water was up to the lower sides of the center console. I know I'm a dummy but I was recovering another vehicle at the time it happened at least
second problem just actually happened today on lunch. when i submerged the jeep it hydrolocked and after winching out i pulled all 6 plugs and cranked the water out and dried the intake by putting it at a slight incline and a shop rag in the tb. dried the plugs the best i could and reinstalled and it started after about 15sec of cranking and ran "ok" the rest of the day and just fine for a while and today it throws a p0171 and p0172 code. o2 sensors are brand new NTK sensors and it has a new CTS and TPS. also has a less than a week old distributor since the old one had a worn out mast bushing and a broken screw on the cap so cap/rotor are new as well. msd coil and msd wires are less than a year old and no misfire codes. plugs are e3 brand installed by previous owner and eyeballing them while cleaning the water off of them the other day they didnt "look" bad. i've pondered the thought of yanking them out and installing champions as i know everyone has better luck with them but it didnt run bad before.....and being a mostly gm guy I cant stand champion plugs in anything but a lawnmower. fuel pressure tested fine as a search showed that as a possibility and fuel filter was changed in november.

Most of them snap open see if theres water in it also the plugs will snap together giving you regularwipers wiyh no delay . If wipers stiil have issue id say switch is shorted.
