Default Wiring access thru firewall - where ???

Okay. I know I'll be running accessory lighting on my front bumper, but I've also decided to mount my winch control plug receptacle in the cab as well.

What section of the firewall are you folks running your wiring through?? I'd rather not drill if I can avoid it, and figured most of you with aux. lighting must have pushed your wires through an existing pass-thru, so I'd like some help finding it so I don't spend hours contorting myself hanging half in the engine bay with a flashlight trying to locate the best spot.

Thanks.

If it's small gauge push a hole through the rubber on the side of the hood release cable. It's located on the top right of the firewall and comes out right under the drivers side steering column kick panel area.

I considered that... as a last resort. I figured that with my luck I'd drill right into something important.

Find out where your speedo cable, shifter cables, or wiring harnesses go through. Screwdriver and poke a hole in it.

I ran all mine through stock grommets. Just poked hole along side of cables and such.

After doing some preliminary poking around, I figured to try piggybacking a temp wire on the driver's side of the engine bay where a large wire bundle goes through the firewall almost directly in front of the steering column. If I can get it through I'll leave it for later and use it to pull the spliced winch remote plug wires into the cab.
