Just picked up my new 01 cherokee and went to put in 4 low and it won't work. I can get it into 4H and then it only goes halfway to 4L. Any ideas? Don't think the guy I bought it from ever used it.

And while I'm here. The horn doesn't work. Feels like theres nothing in the steering wheel. And only the drivers door can move the other windows. Had the same problem in my other jeep but never figured it out.

If it's never been in 4lo the linkage can be a little stiff, give it a good yank.

The same thing with my cherokee, the driver side only one that can roll windows down, and samething with my horn but my airbag code is on so im pretty sure there is no airbag in it. I live minutes away from mexico, where the privious owner probley went to have cherokee fixed istead of using insurence. Thats why I am assuming its still clean title, if your air bag sensor is on its most likly missing..

Putting trans in Neutral then shifting into 4low always does the trick for me.

You can shift from 2H into 4H on the fly, but to go into 4Lo, you have to be in neutral and then shift into N on the t case, wait a sec, then shift down into 4L. If its the first time it's been in 4Lo it will be slightly sticky, just muscle it in and wait for your dash to say Part Time in the top right

It makes a slight grinding sound when I try it if that helps any. Any ideas on the horn? I'd rather do it myself than pay a garage.

This might be a dumb question, but as far as the Windows go, are you sure there isn't a window lock switch it button? On my 92 laredo, there are six switches on the driver side door panel... 1 per window, 1 for the locks and 1 for the window locks that allows only the drive to control the windows when enabled.
