Not sure if the 4cyls had the cryco 8.25 but i wouldnt waste my time swaping in a dana 30 rear on 33's.....Perfect time to find a Disc brake Explorer rear.

Even then with 4.10 your gonna want more...merging into traffic is gonna suck your gonna be on the throttle more to get the vehicle to move..in and out of OD on the highway. Gas milage will suffer as a result....4.56 will put you about back to stock.

I'm running 33x10.50's with a dana 44 rear, 4.10 gears. get between 19 and 24mpg depending on how I'm driving.

BUT....the motor is a bored .030 H.O. with 2001 intake, 62mm bored throttle body, and borla header. sooo....it's got the power.

that said, with 4.56's or 4.88's I'd probably be happier economy-wise, but would lose top speed (can do 110 easy with it).

personally I would suggest 32x11.50's with a 4.5" lift.

As for that chart.. I do not doubt it, but all 4cyl (gassers anyways) that I have seen have had either 4.10s or 4.56s

*shrug*. you must have seen all 5 speeds and/or autos.

it's not the engine that determines the gears with a 4 cylinder...it's the transmission.

id drop the $ on gears before tires. doggin out motors to keep it moving isnt kool. wrecks efficiency, and keeps the converter from locking up like it should [erratic shifting in and out of o/d] look around for a deal on some used tires
