I had posted an explaination but I guess I should have read to the end. The Ubolt thing was my first guess. seen it MANY times.
If someone doesn't believe how a loose rear end could make a vehicle steer then they should talk to some drag racing guys.

I had a very similar problem also after i built my s10 bastard packs. When i first built them i didnt have spring clips around them which caused axle wrap. the leaves were fanning apart on accelaration. My first guess was leaf spring bushings, but they didnt make a difference. finally i got myself some leaf spring clamps (not clips, clamps). they clamped all the leaves together so they didnt fan out. made them more like one solid spring. this made a huge difference in the torque steer.

ps. my jeep is 5 speed with an aussie locker which also contributed to the problem
