XJ 2 Door Window Regulator

XJ 2 Door Window Regulator
I have a 1995 Cherokee 2 door, manual windows.
My Jeep has been making the ratcheting sound when the window is rolled up for a while and is getting worse. I took the door panel off this weekend to take a look and it is not the handle, it is the worm gear assembly that sounds stripped. I oiled it all up, it functions smoother but obviously did not help the issue. If anyone has tried to buy a new one, you know that it doesn’t appear that anyone makes them so you have to get it from a junk yard or eBay, and the guys on eBay are charging hundreds for them.
My question is, is there a fix for these pre 1997 manual window regulators? I am open to suggestions if anything can be made or fabricated. I have an extra set of wrecked YJ doors but the worm gear assembly looks to be too different to make anything work.
I am open to any suggestions before I buy a door, pay 200 for a used regulator, or never roll the window down again lol. Thanks!

Hey, if you want to convert to power windows I found a power regulator that positively works for 97+ XJs. Made a whole write up and everything. It might be worth a try. Get the opposite side regulator you are trying to fix from a 2005 2 Door Cobalt (Broken driver's side, get a passenger side). You'll need to make a wire harness adapter, switch out 2 bolts on the regulator, and drill 2 holes in the door, but I just fixed mine the other day and I haven't had any issues yet.
