Default Is XJ/2WD 43le transmission 1993 4.0 interchangeable with 1996 4.0

Newbi to the forum,
we've been picking thru it for a while, since we picked it up for minor repairs,
This is what we have at this time,

Question:
Is XJ/2WD 43le transmission 1993 4.0 interchangeable with 1996 4.0

Any issues for the Cherokee Sport 2WD Transmission installation fit or functional discrepancies between the 2 model years?

We have the 1996 Cherokee Sport / 2wd and purchased a 43le that is paint marked from a parts yard with (1993 Cherokee 4.0).

Although we have not removed the transmission from the truck yet, It matches whats in there now visually and appears to be correct physically, Bell housing, Pan (Ribbed), Tail (output) Housing, All wires sensors and plugs appear to be present.

Reason for interchange and not a rebuild.
Current trans. will likely not be rebuild-able due to the amount and heavy shavings that was expelled when we did our step 1. fluid/filter swap to begin our diagnostic routine of the truck,
No change,
Symptoms - Grinding/scuffing noise while in gear(s), (metal to metal), No Reverse while running and unable to move it backwards running or off, only way to move it is to remove drive shaft, push it back, install and go Forward only.
So... (Note to readers, It is a salvaged title? and someone decided to remove the transmissions model tag on our truck).
I know that that opens the door to an infinite amount of variables, but assuming that the truck is correct for 1996 model year, as registered).

Currently plan to hand the installation off to a local transmission shop, (Too labor intensive for us at this time), but would like to know what to expect or if it is a possible interchange beforehand, I'm sure the shop could figure it out $$ if necessary but if we can know ahead may save some time and $$.

If anyone can provide incite with this hopefully interchangeable switch.
If any additional information is needed please ask so we can prepare or be aware of any known issues.
