the front drive shaft wont work without a SYE. the rear drive shaft is a slip yolk style and the front is not.

On o2 topic:

My 90 4.0l when warmed up has a rough idle. Not as if its a vacuum leak more of a surge.

Iv got a loud exhaust leak, im currently thinking a cracked header right near the firewall. Im not to familiar with the open closed loop thing but im wondering if when at full temp in stuck in the wrong loop.

Where do i start my search? Just start replacing the o2?

if your exhaust leak is that bad it'll throw the o2 sensor off a LOT, which could definitely cause your rough idle once the header heats up and the crack opens. A new o2 sensor will not fix this - you need to fix the exhaust leak first.
