oh wait - Taurus fan DOES have 2 terminals - a high speed and a low speed.

So....

Since were on the subject of electrical, I've got a 98 that never came with fog lights. I picked up a factory fog light switch for cheap and I was wondering if I can hook up aftermarket fogs to that switch. The back has four prongs inside a female connector so I'm unsure.

Yeah you'll just have to wire it up right... Probably has 4 connectors for illumination, to relay, ground and 12v in so just use what you need...

On the Taurus fan, I guess that would work. I wouldn't want one relay powering another like that especially not with 80 A

yea you can. If you don't have the wires these colors are top down on the back of the switch

Orange - This is the illumination wire, you can tap into another orange wire in the switch panel

Light Blue - This is the switch output, send this wire to the input wire of the foglight relay.

Violet - Connect to a fused 12v, or ignition source. If you'd like similar stock operation, you can connect this to the parking light output so that if you leave the switch on it will only get power when lights are on.

Black - Connect to a ground

Make sure you run a relay to your fog lights if you go this route, the oem switch CANNOT handle the current that aftermarket lights pull. I'd also run some 12g or at least 14g wire.

Thanks for all of that.

I took off the bezel were the fog light switch mounts and I actually have wires that plug into the switch! Now turning the switch on and off doesn't illuminate the light and I also didn't find any wire where fogs would be mounted either.

Yeah the harness is already there... You need to find your other wire after the relay to the lifts and splice your lights into there

Can someone please help me. My 98' xj started making a weird noise since I replaced the clutch. I replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout and pilot bearing. It only makes this noise once it is warmed up and is at idle. It sounds like a constant rubbing, almost like a low pitch clicking. I can rev it up to 1k rpm and the noise doesnt seem to increase in speed, after 1k rpm It goes away. I dont think its clutch related because it doesnt change with the clutch engaged or not and it shifts great. I just went down and replaced the donut gasket where the exhaust hooks up to the manifold and it didnt help. Could it be the metal plate between the engine/trans? When I pried the trans off the engine I could of bent it slightly where the starter goes in, could it be rubbing? Im going to go over all the intake/exhaust manifold bolts to check if they are tight, I replaced the intake/exhaust gasket a few months ago and havnt noticed this noise until about a week after the clutch replacement, it wasnt directly after. Im thinking it could also be a crack in the exhaust manifold. Its idles pretty darn smooth and seems to run great, it is weird however that I can only hear the noise while sitting inside the jeep. Any ideas?

Did you replace the pilot bearing? And if you bent the ring on the flywheel, maybe its hitting the CPS (Crank Positioning Sensor) or starter. I'd do an inspection of the flywheel first.

Yes I replaced the pilot bearing. I did not remove the flywheel since it seemed in excellent shape, no nicks or grooves. All I did was clean up the face of the flywheel with 180 sand paper and some emery cloth. What ring could I have bent? Trying to check everything I can before I pull the trans again. I just crawled under and checked the exhaust manifold, I didnt see any noticable cracks at the collector.
If I run a little seafoam through the intake do I have to change the oil afterwards? I seafoamed it a month ago then changed the oil right after. I just want to see if the exhaust manifold is cracked. Thanks

Has anybody installed aftermarket seat heaters into stock cherokee seats? I want to stay away from GC seats because I need all the headroom I can get.

Idle oil pressure with 5w30 blend at mid 50's outside? I'm running less than 20.

Anybody ever heard of a NV3500 HD? And in the 5 speed flavor? Found one for a decent price that came from a 04 dakota, but have no idea what that thing would be compatible with.
