I have been beating it with a 2/12lb sledge, if i cut it I will probably have to get a new front pipe too, I can see where it has already been cut and it is pretty close to where to hangar is. So I would prefer not to cut it, but I may have to. Any other ideas?

I want to replace the cat and muffler on my 98'. The o2 sensor bung is welded in on the exhaust pipe between the cat and muffler. Can I replace the cat with one that has the o2 bung directly in it?

Looking at a cat like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnaflow-53...e23431&vxp=mtr
Same setup my 1997 has on it when I bought it. Looks stock. So, might have come that way. I replaced it with a Magnaflow. But went 2.5" from Manifold to tail pipe. But, your good to go!
I use this guy ultrarevparts

Your saying that your downstream o2 bung is welded in between the cat and muffler, it doesnt screw into the cat correct?

What's the best way to find a good deal on a vehicle in your area? I'm all over Craigs List but what about eBay or some other sites?

Awesome thank you sir
Keep on craigslist and dont jump on one just because its the only one for sale local, keep searching until you find the nicest one you can in your price range. Also, on ebay you can click the drop box on the right to narrow your search to "nearest first." Also you can check Adhuntr.com which used to be called, allofcraigs.com which searches craigslist nationwide. You can also narrow your search there to your region or your exact state.

I got the cat off, no change. What would cause the exhaust to make this puffing noise? It doesn't do it on initial start up, but then begins after decelerating from freeway speeds, it does it at idle after that. I just failed emissions.
