I am going to out some nice polk audio speakers in all around (plus new wiring, amp, and subs) and want to know if 6.5" will work without much modding or if I should stick with 5.25". Need to go in front doors and rear soundbar. I will probably cut the panels too so you can see them.

Obviously painting them would resist corrosion/rust, and Im doing some painting tomorrow so I may just go ahead and throw some paint on them. Thanks for your input

Ok when I had a ton of static from my fm it was because the cable from the antenna went into some sort of computer box for the (aftermarket?) cd changed that was hooked up in the back. Then a cable ran from that box to the radio. I just plugged the cable directly into the back of the radio and got rid of the cd changed all together. Of you have a cd changed this might be your problem, but I'm just talking from personal experience. Your reverse lights not turning on could be due to a faulty neutral safety switch. Other symptoms of this include starting only in neutral. Look up jeep Cherokee neutral safety switch rebuild on Google and see if that works.

I did 5.25 fronts and 6.5 rears. There is a lot of space up front, though. 6.5s are a fairly common upgrade, but I think 6s would fit without cutting if you can find some.

If I run into any problems ill just make some speaker baffles. Should I put foam or anything around the speakers as deadening. I know that moisture has gotten to the front speakers before. What should I do to prevent this?

Depending on the speakers, the rear might either go right in no problem, or not want to fit all the way in the hole. My kickers fit right in the stock location in the rear, just had to use new screws. However the rockford fosgates didnt fully fit. Some say trim it and cut it and bla bla bla. Best thing to do for the rear if its (within an inch or so of fitting) is just get some wood screws to put them in first off, which i do recommend using whether they fit or not, and then just run each one in a little way and tighten them up all the way around until they go in. Easy as pie.

If you make baffles make sure they're gonna fit with the windows up and down. However every jeep gets mud and water in the doors some way or another. The back of my kickers were covered in mud and it didnt effect them. If your all that worried about it just get marine grade speakers for the front. They'll hold up to anything..
