Could be your head unit. Mine were doing that til I replaced my head unit with cgarrett's so I would have a working cassette deck. With the new head unit (still factory), my right-side speakers were doing it. With the Kenwood, it all cleared up. I had thought my speakers were blown.

Anyway I can test it? Think I have a warranty on both.

use the stereo to fade the sound to each speaker. If they're all making the static, its the head unit, or you need to redo your ground on the head unit. I would first try re running the ground for the head unit.. easiest option.

Alright I need to move the ground anyway, the speakers also do it when the head unit is off.

Would it be worth converting the rear brakes from drum to disc? Ive seen info in that it saves gas. Is that just a conspiracy or fact?

I don't see how they'd save gas. It's not like there is less friction and they're only used when braking. Only benefit would be better braking. If you got 32+ tires they'd help a bit.

I agree with this guy. I dont know about the gain in mpg. but it would certainly save you time in the long run when servicing your brakes. Alot less lil pieces and adjustments. And I dont know this for sure but you wouldnt have to wrry about mud clogging up in there and screwing something up.
