My original front light is diff than the one in the pic. It was a very small one light only light that was held in place by the headliner. No bracket on my original. The new headliner came from a JY that was not a pull your part so I was not able to see it.

I tried to do my oil filter adapter today.
After about 1 hour of trying, I could not even get the L-wrench onto the T60 nut.
It wasn't a clearance issue, it just would not seat into the star.
Has anyone's ever rusted out enough to not allow a T60 to seat properly?
Or, do you think I have the wrong kind of T60? Is "star" different than "Torx"?
I used this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110958008484?
Do people get this to fit from above or below?
There was no way I could get it to seat from above.
I did get it to seat once from below, but, from there, there was no way I could get any sort of twisting motion on it without it just falling out.
Forget getting a 3 foot breaker/cheater bar onto this to actually crack the red locktite. If you can only do this from below, this requires a lift.
Also, this seems to be a two man job, with one man holding the T60 wrench in place while the other uses the breaker bar.

I might try to replace my VC Gasket next weekend.
Can you tell me EXACTLY how to remove these throttle cables?
Please be as specific as you can. "Just remove it" does not help.
Please act like you're instructing a mentally disabled 2nd grade child.
Exactly which direction do I press? Or pull?
Please use "up", "down", "left", or "right"
What do I do first? second? etc.
How do I remove #1? Push? Pull? Slide?
How do I remove #2? Push? Pull? Slide?
How do I remove the black clip? Exactly which direction do I pull? or push? or slide?
Then, just remove the 3 bolts holding the bracket and pull away the entire assembly?

Pull the adapter where it connects to the ball off. Simply pull it, it will come off. Then where it is attached to the mettle piece, pinch the two plastic tabs together and pull it out. Extremely simple

#1 take a screw driver and pry it off or to the top or up in your photo.

I got to it from the top using a torx bit and a wrench. I had to cut down the bit to get it in all the way and flush. Very similar to this is what I used except I cut my torx socket part almost in half to make it shorter.
I tried to do my oil filter adapter today.
I probably spent about an hour trying to get the T60 wrench to fit.
I could not even get the L-wrench onto the T60 nut.
Has anyone's ever rusted out enough to not allow a T60 to seat properly?

Also, this seems to be a two man job, or people on this forum are some highly expert mechanics.
A lot of this stuff is just not for beginners.

When you take off the light cover, you will see the bulb. Take it out. Then you will see 2 rods with star washers on them. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and gently grab the outside of the washers. Twist and pull. Note which side is up. Push it back on the same way. Then the housing of the light will drop. Then unplug. Reverse for install.

Yea, it's not a clearance issue. The L-Wrench is stubby enough, but barely goes into the star in the first place.

The cable with the black plastic (#2) on the end simply pushes off. Working from your pic you would simply push very hard on the black plastic to the right. It is a nipple that the black plastic snaps onto. Grab the black plastic piece on the left side that is attached to the cable, the skinny part and push it to the right.
