I will probably replace it with a new radiator and return it to stock, somebody installed the wrong radiator at some point in time.
Sorry I wasnt any help maybe next time. best of luck.

This happened a week or so back and yes the fans are working. I have a new mechanical fan and new electric fan which turns on at 210. Thats kinda useless for me at that temp with the 160 thermostat in there. I was told that a very tiny leak in the head or head gasket. I also noticed that i was low on fluid around the time that this happened. Its weird because it happens around every 3 months or so. Currently it is running fine around 160-180 as my DD.

Just a quick question, Will 235/75R15 fit on a stock 98 XJ sport? I'm looking into getting Goodyear Wrangler Radials with this size.

What are your average temperatures for around town and offroad driving. My temps seem to be higher than usual and thought I'd see what is average. Right now around town is at about 200-205, and offroad is 220ish. thanks for any input

another question haha, i bought a pair of off road lights and they are mounted and working. however, the schematic says to have a ground wire coming off the switch, is this really needed? i dont know why a switch would need grounding

The main difference between the two is the head flow characteristics. The ports in the head for the intake/exhaust are bigger and flow more freely, along with a change in camshafts and the deletion of some sensors, such as the knock sensor found on the RENIX 4.0s. Changes were good for about 20 hp more.

Personally i like Haynes manuals - but they're both pretty much the same.
If you plan on really getting into your jeep there is no substitute for a factory service manual though.
Chiltons all the way, especially for the wiring diagrams and the emission controls chapter.

4wd part time means four wheel drive, use on slippery surfaces only. No asphalt, its not a AWD.

Is it as simple as swapping out to the other transfer case (and changing out the shifter cover inside the Jeep), or is there more to it? I'm thinking about doing this at some point in the near future if it's relatively quick... Not sure why... Guess I like the idea of having REAL 4WD if I want to drive over someone... I mean someTHING! LOL
Ok let me get this right since multiple people have been asking.
The difference between a 231 and a 242 is that the 242 has a central differential that allows different spinning speeds between the front and rear driveshafts. This makes it possible to drive the jeep in 4wd on asphalt without binding. Swapping the two TCs is doable and pretty straight forward IF the two TCs have the same input gear, as i posted already in the past linking the Novak writeup.

How does one add water to the thing?

There's also no where for the overflow bottle line to be mated up to the radiator either. Whassup with that?
You fill from the pressurized coolant bottle (it's not an overflow bottle) right side near the dash panel over the heater fan.

I have put it into neutral going 60 MPH and pressed the petal but no whining sound. Put it back into drive, press the petal and the whining sound returns.
Question: transmission? I just had a full flush using 12 quarts this past spring when I bought the Jeep. Or transfer case?
What do you think? The whining, the Jeeps not mine, seems to be getting louder or I am just tuned into it more.
Any ideas guys?
