When they tell you they want 30 dollars a piece for the molded heater core hoses just get three foot of 3/4 and 5/8 hose instead.

Good to know. Both at 3 feet will be enough. I was reading about using a brass fitting instead of the water inlet pipe and just using a little longer hose to the fitting. Thoughts?

Anyone know anything about these subs and amp? I got both for free and I don't really care that much about the bass. Just want them to compliment my mids and highs.

I have 2 they were both hooked up in a pickup truck to that amp. If they can handle the power then I will just hook one up bridged because they take up a lot of space. The subs say kicker impulse on them. If they aren't good I have another set of subs at the car lot that I can use. I forget the name though.

So I'm hoping someone else has ran into this problem, or something similar to it. I got some used shocks, and they still have the shock mount plate attached. (They were on a spring under s10, so there is that plate that the u bolts go through, and tighten down on) and that plate has the shaft that the bottom of the shock goes on to. Well the shaft is pretty stuck in the bushing. And I can't the shaft to come out without it wanting to take the bushing with it... Anyone got some ideas or tricks up their sleeve?

Many of us have had failures with other than factory stats. Even Stant. I had 3 of those fail. 83501426 at the dealersip. Do it once.

If it were me, I would get the 97 and later heater hoses from the parts store. Eliminate that weak link of a heater control valve and plug the vacuum line going to it.

That sony amp is a decent amp for the price. Free? Even better. I ran a sony xplod amp and two xplod 12" subs in my chevy and it was way to dang much. Looks like a decent setup. Those kickers are pretty nice i'd say as long as they are in good condition. Watch everything carefully when you start running it though. I had a man give me (free) two subs once. He said they worked but he didn't want them anymore. Because of internal problems with the subs, they fried my $300 kicker amp.

Thanks! Do you think bridging one of the subs to the 2 channel amp would still have a good sound? I don't have room for two of those things....

You may not need to bridge it unless you want to max your bass with the one sub. I'd try it both ways. 600w's on 1 kicker 10" should rattle the plastics so you may need to bring it down to 300w's. Try it both ways through all ranges. Its only switching 2 wires. Lol

Only a couple of small issues.. #1, the grille is warped and the headlight bezels are both cracked. Is the grill warping common? (also since I'm going to be buying new grille/bezels, did 96s ever have color matched grilles?

#2, apparently the liftgate shock mount broke at some point and somebody tried to weld it back in.... Common problem?

This is going to be a disaster to fix since I don't know anybody who can weld/any shop that would be able to fix it.

If you lived anywhere near louisville ky, I'd say come over to my shop and I'd get ya taken care of.
If you can get to the back side of that ball stud, you could drill a new hole an inch lower and use a ball stud that bolts in vs. weld in. You would have to take a grinder and cut off the existing one and all that goose poop weld around it though. But I think with a fender washer behind it you'd be set.
Or maybe this is the perfect excuse to buy a small 'suitcase' welder
