Why do some shock photos have a pin sticking out, and others do not?
MONROE Part # 37083 ..These are of the SAME model ! Which is real?

Some are for the front and others aren't. Go look at you jeep, front has the pin that goes through the inner fender and a bar pin on the axle side. Rear is bar pin up top and there is basically a bolt on the rear axle

the one lying flat is for the front but remember too, XJ owners sometimes use bar pin eliminators so this means we can use the vertical shock that you see there just perfectly.

line it up, super glue it then smother it in jb weld then duct tape the hell outta it, and finally wrap it in zip ties! (thats what i had to do on my old subie gl wagon) went to drill it out and do all that good stuff, and i broke it all to bits...so i did the above and it never overheated anymore, nor did it leak
by far the most stupid thing i have ever read...
well as for the thermostat housing bolt issue i re tapped it a size up and all went well put in another new gasket with some red RTV gasket sealer and it didn't leak.... but she stated to over heat a little...
the jeeps got the following... NEW rad NEW 165 degree thermostat and 6 month old water pump; what could be making her over heat? im lost

4 wheel drive wont disengage on my 1996 cherokee
I had u joints replaced on front just recently. I just put my jeep in 4 wheel drive yesterday and now it is like stuck in 4 wheel drive. When I shift it in to 2 wd it doesnt want to turn and feels like its dragging??? I was able to shift back into 4 wheel drive though and that feels normal.

I have read about people changing the "coil" on a 98 XJ? If you have a distributor, do you have a coil? Is a coil the same as a coil pack? If you DID have a coil pack, and want to replace everything that eventually breaks by 200k, should you replace the coil pack, or does this almost never go bad?

It's a non moving part so it should last forever but they do break down and get weaker or completly stop working.
Accel has some direct bolt on replacements that boost the output voltage into the 42 000V range

You'll find some here that say don't waste your money but I'm a big beliver in getting the most spark I can for power and economy.
There must be something to it if anybody that races believes in higher voltages.

During the VC gasket fix, someone said they had trouble removing the wire harness from the coil. I did not even see this mentioned in the write-up.....typical.... Can you explain what this is?

Based on your previous posts in this thread I think it would be sensible if you went out and LOOKED AT YOUR JEEP before asking things.
