Gita couple questions, one, this vacuum lune is hanging down right where the vacuum ball was in my old jeep, is it supposed to go to something. Did the newer 99 jeeps have vacuum *****?
Attachment 163782
And I also have lost probably a quart of oil in the last month, I see there's some leaking from the oil filter but not a lot, isn't there a o ring or something that usually goes bad there? Thanks

Heater blows great on defrost, but on any other setting it just blows from the far left vent (barely)... Could that cause this?

Doesnt matter what year, package, or anything. You could even use one from a different vehicle as long as its around the same size.

I just purchased my first Jeep EVER, and Im excited. i live in the desert where there is alot of "whoomping" room.
I just purchased a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a I6 4x4. When i bought the vehicle I knew it had a blown head gasket and figured it would be an easy fix. I started ripping under the hood and started thinking of what else could have gone wrong by driving the vehicle with a blown head gasket. (the guy I bought the vehicle from said that as soon as he knew that he had a blown head gasket he stopped driving it.)
The Jeep still turns on with no problem, it's driveable, the motor sounds fine when turned on but has a very rough idle and the rpm's stay kinda high for a little bit.
I guess my question is, what should I look out for?
I am going to replace the head gasket myself, and I feel confident I can do it, but is their any precautions I should take since the milky oil is everywhere?
Also, do you recommend I change out any other parts since Im already tearing into it? Push rods? Rocker arms? Springs/ valves?
Any Tips would be appreciated.

I don't know if it was because the jeeps sat for a couple of weeks until the repairs were done and water rusted them closed or what. But after it happened the second time, from now on I put in new ones every time...just for the sake of not having to take it all back apart again.

Sway bar end links for 2" lift
I have been riding w/out a front sway bar for a while now and don't mind it at all (I know it isn't safe) but now I have the money to make/buy some. I don't go wheeling to the point I would need flex so Idc if they are true discos or not.

I found this and it looks pretty straight forward. Only questions are, should he have but bushings on there? And how do you think it would hold up to normal everyday driving?

And no sway bars are perfectly safe if you know how to drive.

And I agree with you on driving is safe. My only thought is if I ever had to swerve to dodge anything. The jeep would rock pretty hard if i actually had to do it.

I know that, I was talking about where the actual bar meets the end link. He just has his set up with a washer.
