Actually for the same reason. Material inside burns out and becomes loose. In a lightbulb its the tungstent filament, in a cat it's a platinum-coated mesh of metal or ceramic.

Happy new year! First timer here, lovin the site already!
My problem, I recently purchased a '96 cherokee classic, brought it to my friends shop for an oil change and heater control vale, and on the way there, it started making a noise in the mid to front end like it was in 4 wheel drive but not all the way, or like something went loose in the transfer case, we put it on the lift and it only made the noise when in drive, my friend and another mechanic said it was the torque converter, I know the work that is needed for this job, a round about price for the converter and labor? I know prices are different in other states than NY, thanks in advance for any help

What size are they good for? I have 3.5in lift and 31x10.5x15 with no fender flares. would they work?

I wouldn't put those on a stock jeep will.

Measure. Flex it until the tire is a half inch from touching anything, then measure from the base of the stock bumpstop to where it hits the axle tube. That's how much bumpstop you need.

You could, but the stock bumpstops are almost always rotten to the point of falling off, so you usually have to replace them anyway.
