Actually for the same reason. Material inside burns out and becomes loose. In a lightbulb its the tungstent filament, in a cat it's a platinum-coated mesh of metal or ceramic.

What year? Some do, some don't.

True. In my head I was thinking the cat doesn't burn to produce light, and a lightbulb doesn't help with emissions.

I was tired

Okay haven't been on here in awhile and I lost my haynes manual in a bad garage fire. m finally changing my wiper switch in my column and i'm stumped. I changed my turn signal switch before and it wasn't bad but i cant get my tumbler out to pull the column cover off. I read all the treads on here and none of them had a base model non tilt non delay wiper switch. Just some updated info on my Xj, its a 93 base model, 8" IRO long arm, ford 8.8 disc brakes lsd 4.10s, ax-15, built 4.0, etc. ts the same one in my pics but wayyy more built then in the pics now. Lol.

Or if you have a horrible shackle angle, your jeep won't flex hardly at all anyway so there's no need.

Or you can fix both problems with bumpstops and shackle relocation brackets.

"could" but I don't have the money for the relocation brackets. Heard they give a better ride too, which would be nice.
