Actually, you hear these truckers talking about the Eaton 13 speeds that have a hidden gear. Sometimes 1st in OD or direct, whatever. The AX-15 has a hidden P. I know times are tough so let me share my secret:

1. Pull into your desired parking spot
2. Clutch out, neutral.
3. Take it up to about 4500-5000 RPM. If you have the basic gauges, just listen for a rattle or knocking sound
4. Shift to 5th
5. Quickly lift your foot off the clutch

Presto - your XJ won't be going anywhere for a while. Try it in an empty lot to get used to the technique. Don't be embarassed - like learning stick the first time, this can take a few tries to get right.

Hey i tried it and it worked good but it dont say P but thats ok now i'm trying to leave and it wont go back in D i tried tug of war with a comings earlier and it started making weird noises like clanking and stuff guy told me i probably broke a piston return spring what is that and where can i get one? I tried walmart in the auto parts section and they dont have it?

No no no he doesnt know what he's talking about. You broke a connecting rod bearing gasket or maybe your just low on blinker fluid. Whenever my jeeps acts up I just need to top off the blinker fluid reservoir.

I read somewhere it was an exhaust bearing control line. Replaced that and now i'm good to go. Thanks guys!

Oh man this is becoming a headache for real lol. Need to start a troll thread and keep this clean.

And a quick side note, it's the fluid for the electric horn you need to help quiet rods, its very thin

Anyone ever use drings where factory tow hooks go?

I'm thinking of something like a dring reciever for a hitch except attached to where stock tow hooks would go.

Yeah look up high country 4x4, before they went out of business they made some. Also a write up on JF about them... I wanted some till I bought a bumper lol...

I wouldnt do it unless you plan to connect each side together so it's solid. I honestly wouldnt trust the tow hooks on a recovery. One good real hard pull on the tow hook and you'll need to take your jeep to the frame puller..

I dont know how strong it would be but I saw a guy who found a large d-ring/hook and he bolted to a piece of square tubing which then bolted into the rear unibody where the hitch mounts. My plan is to get a hitch and a d-ring receiver.

It'll be strong.. Just if he's gonna make it i was just pointing out he should brace the two mounts together.. would make it alot stronger.

Thats exactly what im talking about. Just want some tow points on the DD. Wouldnt be sunk to its rockers in mud or nothing.


Now, where to get those.... if its too exspensive may look at making them, the dring mount part at least.
