Tires for 16" wheels WILL be more expensive than those for 15" wheels for the equivalent size so unless you have your heart set on a certain pair of 16" wheels i'd stick to 15".

depends if you have 15" or 16" wheels. You should have a 7-9" wide wheel for those tires (basically stock width).

Will a 117A alternator from a 99 fit in a 98 (which has a stock 90A alternator)? I'm looking for a bolt-on upgrade.

roll the window down, then put your knee against the door right below the window and bend the top track whichever way it needs to go (i presume in toward the middle) until it seals correctly.

When I floor the Xj I get a growling noise and can amost feel it (just isn't smooth) until the rpms go down. U joints seem ok...noticed the torque converter inspection plate isn't there.. Any ideas what would make that sound/feel?

But if you've cut your hinges i would recommend taking the door off to do this.. Did it to mine and the door sealed awesome, but the door hung about 1/2" lower afterwards.. Had to reallign the door afterwards because it was hitting.
