I've checked the oil and it doesnt appear to be milky or cloudy..

head gasket was the first thing outta my lips when it broke down the second time..

Actually the jeep is currently parked at my dad's house in fayetteville.

i have 100 mile "free" AAA towing.. but.. worry about that later..

I am trying to diagnose it myself.. was trying to figure out if the NSS i think someone said.. would that cause there to be no power between the ignition and the starter Relay?

I agree with you that its probably warped the block...

but im horrible at figuring that out.. only thing i remember from college about Head Gaskets is doing a Compression test... but vacuum lines and gauges.. are a tech im not very familiar with..

thanks

please help, think i'm gonna cry, spent all day trying to figure out what this is called. it looks like a freeze plug? but its not concave and its got a bolt holding it in place. it seems to be leaking coolant pretty bad and i need to fix it asap, once i figure out what it's called. its located on the driver side of the block just under the exhaust manifold and just above the oil pan, kinda towards the front of the motor (headlights).

thats where a freeze plug should be, not sure what that is. maybe a ghetto fix for a leaking one? They are super cheap, but replacing that is going to require removing the intake and exhaust manifolds at the very least.

That's where my block heater is located.
You should be able to replace it without removing the manifolds if it's a rubber bung type heater or block off plate. Look up block heaters.

I have to empty the PCV spewage almost every second day

I'm not sure what CCV means but is it the other small line that comes off the back of the valve cover and goes into the intake manifold? What is its purpose?

I hope I am doing this in the right place, new to forums! Have a 2001 jeep cherokee sport, 4.0L, 6 cyl. About a month ago it started dying on me while being driven, would recrank after 10-15 mins or so. did this once a week for three weeks. Now it is dying on me before i get five miles down the road, and taking a lot longer to get recranked. Replaced crankshaft position censor couple of months ago, fuel pump is working, replaced coolant temperature sensor in the thermostat housing, and the thermostat. If I crank it and let it sit in idle it will keep running until turned off, but when I start driving, it starts dying! Please help! This is our only vehicle and getting desperate! Thanks Oh, and it did have check engine light, fixed the problem the code was indicating, and now no check engine light.

Dying like it instantly shuts off? or does it cough and buck and then die?

If it is shutting off completely - i would still bet on the CPS. You may have gotten a cheapo crappy one - it happens.

CCV = Continuous Crankcase Ventilation

different from a PCV - you do not have a PCV. A PCV is a vacuum controlled valve. Jeep 4.0L engines do not use this system.

The rear fitting is a CCV fitting which has a small metered size hole in it and that's it. The front elbow is just an open elbow, not a PCV.

If you are spewing that much fluid every day - i would look into the fact that that rear fitting, or the plastic line running from it to the manifold, is blocked. Take them off and run some carb cleaner through them to make sure they aren't plugged. If the lines are plugged, replace them. If the CCV fitting is plugged, unplug the hole with a paperclip or something and clean it out real well with carb cleaner.
