Best way to do it would be to take one with you and test it with other bolts till you find that perfect one

From what my mind recalls, you cant just use a plain old bolt for leaf spring bolts. You need to go to the junkyard and get another.

It's a m14 thread pitch, I can't remember the length, you need a nipple tipped bolt with a flanged head. Like jeepsurfer1 said just take the old one to the hardware store

Default Major Spark Plug Problem

Plug #3 out of a 2000 jeep cherokee 4.0L. The engine stopped running last night while towing a trailer. Check engine light came on blinking, sputtering started, ran very rough for about a mile, then died. Now I can't get it to turn over, even with the plugs removed. I have not tried to turn the crank manually, or back it up.
Plug looks like there is something loose in number 3, valve broke off or something. Anyway:
Worth trying to fix? What Do I do next?
Thanks for the help...

Default additional info

The guys at the shop said if it won't turn over, start looking for another engine. It had 208,000mi so far.

What did it sound like when it died? And you're saying the starter cant turn the engine over? sounds like you need a new engine..

Pull the valve cover an oil pan, look for debris, pull the head and check out the cylinders, if a valve broke off, there are probably pieces of piston and valve in the oil pan.

There has been a distinct rattle for quite a long time in the engine; however, once the engine warmed up, that always went away..

It started knocking quite bad, running rough when pulling onto the highway-- then a couple miles later when getting onto the off-ramp, it idled very rough- Since i was only a mile or two from home, i kept driving it.. then It sputtered, knocked, ran rough, stalled when I was going about 30mph. Then I got it started again and drove about a half mile, then it wouldnt turn over by the key and starter... it just clunks and everything goes dim (i have a good optima redtop less than a year old)
I let it sit on the side of the road about a half hour, then tried to start it again- it ran for about 3 seconds very rough.
Hasn't turned over again. I can try a wrench on the front crank, but Im not optimistic about it!

Well it may be repairable if it didnt completely lock down like i was thinking. Do what branden said above and pull the valve cover and oil pan.

I'll do that next. If I find pieces- is there any hope for repair? Can I replace valves as a novice-midlevel DIY mechanic? Im hoping the head isn't cracked, but it it is ill let everyone know.
I give me a couple hours and I'll post more info.

Id let a shop do the valves, if there's no damage to the block, then it's repairable. It just might not be economical to repair.
