I looked into the input shaft, its apparently supposed to have some play plus the pilot bearing helps secure it in place. As far as u-joints go, would I feel a bad front driveshaft or front axle u-joint while in 2wd? If not Im thinking its either the failing muffler or catalytic converter vibrating at that speed enough to make it groan. Like I said about it failing, you can hear it occasionally make some clunking sounds and then it starts to sound like a glass pack. Wait and minute and it goes back to normal. Physically the cat is in good shape but the muffler has some dents. Other threads lean towards wheel bearings as well.

I was wondering........
If i could use these in conjunction with my current jack and 2.5 ton stands when working on the jeep. Thay are trailer leveling jacks rated at 6k lbs. They can spin up much higher than my current stands. If i bought them i would probly fabricate plates for the top since the circle top is only about 1 3/4" round. They are only around $40 too so its a cheap alternative if they would work.

I've got 2 quick questions about the front hub assembly. I need to replace one and am going with Timken or Moog brand.
1. Do I need ones made for cast or composite rotors for a 1999?
2. Should I go ahead and replace both?
HERE is a link showing the two options (cast/composite)
Thanks

Would swapping the throttle body and intake from a 92 Cherokee improve anything on my 88 renix engine?
And if it would set up okay on my 88, could I bore it first?

Also you would have to get a tps adapter to run the renix tps on the ho throttle body.

No, I wouldn't use those as Jack stands. They're not intended for any sort of lateral force. They're only meant to help support the weight.

Like all said don't use them. They may support the load but thats a dumb risk.
Also AutoZone has some tall ones. Tall enough for my xj on 35's

You can usually find a good deal on jack stands on craigslist. I've found a set of 4 6000lb stands for 20 bucks before. And check some pawn shops, i know my local one probably has some.
