No way to take it apart. Would red rtv stand all that heat?

I tried putting a piece of metal over it with 3 clamps(one on the hole, two on each end). But that didnt seal it enough.

98 XJ. 4.0 AW4 NP242 HPD30 D35 w/ LSD

2 questions here:

Heat is not hot. Its rather cold. Air comes out, but its cold. Im going to do a heater core flush, but is there any other suggestions yall have?

Second, i have old Turbines on it. They were on when i bought it. 3 of the 5 look great but the other look like crap. Covered in black crud which I imagine is brake dust. What should I do to get them to look decent again?

Is your engine getting up to temperature? If not, you need to replace your thermostat. Same thing happened to me.

Depends on many conditions usually 1500 - 2000. The Cat has to be at least 500 degrees to even work.

My buddy uses red rtv on his headers and it hasn't ever burned off of them

As long as it wont catch fire ill try it. I need to patch the hole.

And just googling high temperature sealants i have come up with nothing to withstand the heat.

Putty. Caterpillar has a liquid/paste that is actually ceramic and hardens with exhaust heat.
