Yes, both of mine are going to be using the 784s. My 98 is one of the later ones. Practically a 99

so yea squealing on first start up im pretty sure my neighbors were ready to murder me at 530 friday morning... i started the car which involves turning the key pumping the gas and cranking to get her going walked back in the house and she started this horrible high pitched squealing went back out and gave it a little gas and it calmed down but came back and pretty much did it until i was almost at work even tho i let it warm up...my stepdad said fan belt someone else just said "sounds like the belt" idk but i cant bring it home again until i know my neighbors wont shoot me over it ha

also even tho i was told that the the heater core or whatever is needed to get heat inside the car was replaced a few months ago it still doesnt get very hot inside just enough to cut the chill really

Some 98s use 703s some are 784s. You have to look at them to find out which. I think it's something to do with the clip, but I forget what exactly.

Supras used a similar design as the AW4 i think it was called the AW304 its the same trans with a differebt vavle body set up in it. I read online that a dragster jeep used it. Look it up.

Connector style is different yes. 784s fit the newer style locking connectors

In the 1999 *model year* (production starting late 1998) Chrysler moved the 4.0s from the JETRONIC connector to the USCAR. The JETRONIC is a rectangular connector with blades, USCAR is almost square with pins. If you're junkyarding, almost all of the EV1 fat injectors have JETRONIC connectors. The new stick-like EV6 units can have both.

It's just a transmission with a single output shaft... AW4s for vehicles with transfer cases were shorter to accomodate the transfer case. AW4s for 2WD vehicles had a longer output shaft and an extension housing on the rear. There is no "4x4 transmission". The AX-15 is the same way.

And regarding a few other posts along the same line, Aisin-Warner is related to Toyota. Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._transmissions
