Ohhh... that would be a good reason lol. I like greenxj21's idea. I'd pop off the line at the fuel rail and extend to hit a bucket, then energize the fuel pump and let it run til the tank was empty, change your fuel filter, put a bit of gas in, run it until empty again, new filter, full tank of gas, run it until it's primed and the air is out, then hook it up again. The reasoning for the 2nd run and filter is to sort of wash out most of any remaining diesel (since the tank won't be 100% empty by the time the fuel pump runs out) and you'll likely encounter some sediment.

Why wouldnt you want to siphon it? I just bought myself a neat lil hand pump from Harbor Freight. 10 bucks. and its great for gettin gas and oil out.

Disconnect line before the fuel filter, disconnect starter and continue to crank ingnition.

hehe i plan on being able to hit that sometime. Once i start rebuilding the engine a little, gonna clean and reseal the valve cover this week at school. It's had a slow leak since i got it, but never bad enough for it to bug me.

I engaged 4H today, and it didn't want to release. I put it back to 2WD and it was clearly still in 4H for about 10 seconds. Then I heard a thunk, like I hit a pothole, and the extra "whirring" of the 4WD was gone. Was it a pothole that kicked it back into 2WD or is that just the sound it made finally going back into 2WD?

that's fairly common. Adjusting the linkage may fix it. Many people put it back in 2wd, then reverse, then go forward

I usually put it in 2wd, neutral then back to drive until I feel a thud then I know I'm back to 2wd

I just slap the shifter to 2wd and then I'm in 2wd. None of this backing up nonsense.

Then i must be lucky, i just pop it back into 2wd and let off the gas at speed always works. My dad's Ranger however, ****ing retarded electronic tcase. I have to keep going back and forth to get it to let go, or engage.
