Ive been havig the same issue. I really wanted a 4.5" lift and 33s but i refuse to pay $600ish on an SYE and shaft. So im dumbing it down to a 3" and 33s. And that money not spent on the other crap will go to a regear. If i want another inch or so ill throw on shackles and spacers.

Yeah 4.0 5 speed and the external slave is good. I think that I might have a rear main seal bad but not 100 percent sure but there is a pretty bad leak that's come from rear of engine down onto bell housing.

If you have strong spark at the plugs it's not the CPS.

It's not a strong spark at all. At first I didn't have any spark so I put a camshaft sensor in it and cleaned the Distributor cap up and than I got a little bit of spark and that's what is making me think that I might need a CPS?

So..what do you guys think.. Its about time to start building.
Regardless im going to have a 3 link upfront.
Trying to decide between 3 inches and 4.5" ...my fenders are already cut (fronts are cut way up high)..
if I go 3 inches ill for sure be running 33s. if I go to 4.5 I may still run 33s, unless I find 35s cheap. I will have stock gears for a while until I can afford a regear, zj steering, iro double sheer trac bar.
3 inches would save me some money from the SYE...
Decisions decisions.

I'm planning on putting 33x10.5's on my 3" lift. I'm going to trim my fenders. I'll be adding adjustable control arms and an IRO double shear trac bar. Eventually I'm going to go up another 1.5". I think I may also run extended shocks and brake lines, so I can get excellent droop. Been reading a little in the "low cog" thread and like the idea of awesome flex on small lifts.

What truck would you be looking to pull a front shaft out of for a 3in lift?
Also, this is going to sound a bit stupid but here it goes. Why do so many people paint the rear quarters with bed liner? I understand bed liner is tough and won't really scratch but what you are trying to protect (meaning the paint) is gone. Or am I missing something? Obvious noob question..

If your Jeep is 4.0 4x4 auto you can put your front shaft in the rear after you install an SYE.
People paint the rear quarter because they like the way it looks... That's the only legit reason I can come up with.
Folks cut and fold the rear fender and quarter and use thick stuff to cover up the flaws.
I did it because I like the way it looks. Poor folks body armor.
