Also, this is going to sound a bit stupid but here it goes. Why do so many people paint the rear quarters with bed liner? I understand bed liner is tough and won't really scratch but what you are trying to protect (meaning the paint) is gone. Or am I missing something? Obvious noob question..
Easier to wash off. you can take a pressure washer and not have to care what angle you hit it with. atleast thats my opinion on it. and it stops rust. which is the scourge of us all...

CPS Testing

Crankshaft Position Sensor Connector (CPS/CKP)

TESTING PROCEDURE 1991 – 2001 4.0L H.O. engines

1. Near the rear of intake manifold, disconnect sensor pigtail harness connector from main wiring harness.
2. Place an ohmmeter across terminals B and C (See Image). Ohmmeter should be set to 1K-to-1OK scale for this test.
3. The meter reading should be open (infinite resistance). Replace sensor if a low resistance is indicated.

... Brilliant. So a gritty surface is easier to wash dirt off of than a smooth surface, a pressure washer can't take bedliner off but it can take clear and base off and bedliner on the outside of a quarter panel stops rust.

3 things I didn't know were possible.

People paint the rear quarter because they like the way it looks... That's the only legit reason I can come up with.

Folks cut and fold the rear fender and quarter and use thick stuff to cover up the flaws.

I did it because I like the way it looks. Poor folks body armor.
What do you mean you can put it in the rear? I have 96, 231, automatic XJ.

And that makes sense. It does look cool

So a front shaft is longer than the rear? So do a bigger lift, install sye and get a front shaft from a jy and install into rear? And dump old rear shaft?

Front shaft is a double cardan shaft. Has to do with the reason you changed out your yolk to a SYE.

Usually the same at ours but they don't bother with engines and transmissions and axles and such. Drive shafts are usually laying on the ground all over the place.

Yes. The difference is that the front drive shaft has a slip joint already in it. It will extent and collapse. It's basically the same thing as the shaft they sell you to go with your SYE.

THIS ONLY WORKS WITH AN SYE...

Last time i checked. Which was yesterday by the way. that it was alot easier to wash the mud and dirt out of the bed of my dads Dodge. which has linex bedliner. with a pressure washer. To me its alot easier compared to when it was not bedlined. and maybe i should have said helps prevent rust? would that clear that lil misunderstanding up for you guys who have to pluck one persons laziness at typing out two extra words. yes im lazy. get the hell over it. oh maybe if you turned the pressure down on your washer you wouldnt have that problem.or you knew how to operate the different nozzles.

Lets move on people instead of usin it for chit chat.

We are. Laziness is ignorance. Or at least it sure makes a person look ignorant. Maybe take a few extra minutes to type what you really mean and you wouldn't catch as much hell.
