If the line didnt crack from folding it over, it probably would, just fold it over a few times, surely it will hold the fluid.

(The problem will be fixed when I swap in my D44 with new hard lines.)
You'll be fine just crimping them over. Just use a big *** set or pliers that'll squeeze the **** out of it. And it'd try it for a mile or so just driving around then check for leaks. Hit the brakes pretty hard a few times. If it holds, you're good. Just be easy on the brakes if you can until you get it fixed.

Are you talking about a hack and tap? Or what? Who said they're scared of a bolt?

It wasnt that a bolt was holding it on, it was the size of the bolt he was speaking of.

Yea, its a good temp fix. Just to add to ^ ^^^^. Fold and crimp 2 or 3 times and the pressure will hold fine

I will be doing a new booster on my 88 xj 4.0 4x4 later this week an have some questions.

Do i need to bleed the breaks after i disconnect the main lines at the booster?

Can the vehicle be on the ground for all the breaks being bled?

Is the rear bleedera inside the drums or on the outside?

I remember being told never to compress the brakes when the drums are off because they will be a pita to get back on.

The bleeder is on the back of the backing plate. Brakes can be bled with all 4 wheels on the ground you will need to bleed the brakes. I don't see a reason to push the brake pedal while the drum is off, I don't know if it would be detrimental, but it would be pointless.

lol yeah. and while your down there you my as well deglaze the pads and put brake lube on the caliper sliding pins on the front brakes. it takes like 5 minutes on each side for the front wheels. That is if you want to take the front wheels off while your doin this. You can get it out of the way and get everything done in one big job for brakes.

Iv done them many times, there not too bad. Ill be replacing all the junk with new so it should be fairly easy. Im more worried about bleeding the system. Never bled breaks. If its easy i may also buy new front calipers.

The break pressure is horrible and when you slam on the breaks it feels like nothing happeneds. No power, no breaks at all. I reversed out of a autozone tonight and rolled right into the curb behind me because the breaks wouldnt even attempt to slow the jeep down.

However i get my tax refund in 2 days so everything will be replaced. Have a $600 parts list for maintenance and repairs. No upgrades are really included in that.

Brakes
A/c
Gaskets.....
