The fact that its only while you're only experiencing it suggests the rear driveshaft.

is your pinion angle correct?
and are you sure none of the yoke holes on the driveshaft or slip yoke are out of round?

I've also had bad luck with non-spicer brand u-joints. Next time mine go out, I'll go with genuine spicer units.
In my manual trans class we measured pinion angle and both joints were at the same degree, I can't remember what the exact number. I checked the slip yoke and seemed fine. I've been thinking it was the rear driveshaft but I took it into the driveshaft shop today and they tested with me right there, and it was fine, didn't need any weights welded on or nothing.

did they check it with the slip yoke attached?

The only other thing I can think of is that you might not have enough spline engagement on the T-case output.

It MIGHT be time for you to get an SYE.

Yeah I checked with it still attached. And the yoke wasn't extended to point of falling out of the case. Still had room for traveling

Dont use to much of that additive stuff it eats away at your fuel lines eventually. All strong engine cars are gonna eat your wallet. my 01' 4.0 HO gets filled up every 3-4 days and i do alot of highway driving, sometimes traffic. sad part is Prices are at 3.29 by me.

i know on pre 95's thye have the extended housing already. is your SY the metal exteded one or the flexible hose non exteded one. This difference in the SY makes a huge difference in the amount of vibration on a lifted XJ.

thats a good thing, but how much spline engagement was there? If there isn't enough it can cause the driveshaft to vibrate even if its balanced.

I've never heard of that happening and don't see how it would unless he were pouring laquer thinner in the gas tank. Gasoline is some pretty nasty stuff, so fuel lines are designed to be up to the abuse of having gas in them for decades.

That being said, fuel additives are a waste of money if you ask me and I've never had them increase my gas milage.

Some fuel addtiives contain high amounts of methanol and/or other alcohol products. too often repeated use of these products isnt right for the car. you are right though they do clean out the system and are designed to be helpful even the car manuel says not to use them often.

you do realize that gasoline has had a legally required minimum ethanol content of 10% for the past few years....and ethanol is an alcohol product.

Its not right for the care because it burns differently than regular gasoline, but its not going to hurt the fuel pump, lines, or injectors.

i guess it was ignorant to say it eats away fuel lines. as long as its used in moderation and not at every fill up. i do use Mopar fuel injector cleaner on my XJ every couple oil changes.

I am aware of all the points brought up with fuel additives. The additive, like said by ZachsXJ, will not damage anything like fuel lines etc. The stuff I am trying is called Super Eco-fuel Saver, and burns gas cooler and more completely. It actual claims to extand engine life and increase "performance." 15-25% mileage increase claims...will find out soon using first tank with it right now.

This is no offense to you, but those claims are THE dumbest reason I've ever heard for a fuel additive claiming to work.

I'll keep it straight at to the point: If fuel burns cooler, it'll burn less efficiently and less completely. Thats part of the reason diesel engines are so much more efficient than gasoline, they burn the diesel at a much hotter temp than gasoline.

Hi guys, quick question. I had trans issues with a cracked radiator and antifreeze mixing with the trans fluid. I changed rads. fluids and trans filter. tranny works better but slips and wont shift properly. Before it would flash the conv. and wouldn't pull past 3k. Someone told me the antifreeze would eat the coating off the clutches. When I changed the filter there was a fine substance below the filter.Could I change the fluid again or should I just rebuild it. Also what models are interchangeable for 93 Country 4.0 4x4. Its an AW4 trans. I found a 97 model cherokee trans but dont know if it would work. I heard the grands are not interchangeable with the reg cherokee models. Any known input appreciated. Kent

Diesel fuel last so much longer than gasoline. my sprinters can go two weeks before refueling and the expresss vans go a good week

My speedometer cable broke at the t case and I need to replace it. My 89 Laredo has cruise control thus a 2 piece cable. I can't figure how to get the lower cable off under the dash. I am old and not as limber as I once was, can anybody help?
