I would check and see what warranties are on them, even if it's 160 but has a lifetime warranty then you will never pay for one for the jeep again

Exactly. Going to take the part # to the store tomorrow to make sure it has the lifetime warranty. still curious about where the ebay ones are made but getting local parts is so much easier.

I just wanted to repost this question and see if I got any other replies.

I have a 96 Cherokee. 4.0. 176k miles. Completely stock.

I'm getting 10mpg and I have no idea why. It seems to run perfectly. Idles very smooth. I never use AC or anything. The only problems I've noticed is that sometimes when I'm going up a hill I can push the pedal through the floor and not get any response at all.. I'll make it up the hill but it's obviously a struggle for the engine. This only happens occasionally. Also, when at low RPMs (mostly notice it when cornering) I sometimes notice a loud growling noise. It sounds like it's coming from the exhaust, but I'm not sure. Either the exhaust or the rear diff. Somewhere in the back. I drive like a grandpa and getting 10mpg is killing me. Could it really be something as simple as spark flugs/tune up stuff? Anyone else with a 96? What kind of MPGs are you getting?

Your catalytic converter may be clogged

Googled it, people say it'll smell like rotten eggs if the cat is clogged? (Sorry if this comes off as rude, thanks for your help)

Also, I should mention that it just passed emissions mid-december, so there are no CELs or anything.

Sometimes they do smell, not always though.

Loss of power could be from the cat not allowing exhaust flow, as stated above because it is clogged.

Hmm... I don't notice any loss of power except occasionally when I'm going up hill... I can spin the tires on dry ground if that tells you anything? and the very few times I have floored it, it's pretty damn responsive.

When my cat right of the header got clogged and threw a CEL it never smelled any different. Getting a new one helped with acceleration and mpg since exhaust can flow free. That and a tune and property inflated tires and a clean TB and de carboned exhaust system and you're on the way to better mpg. Why have you tried so far to fix the issue

Nothing yet. Before it was suggested that I replace spark plugs/flush fluids/etc. I wasn't sure if that could really have a big effect so I haven't done it yet.

I'm going to go to Autozone tomorrow... shopping list?

New spark plugs/wires? What else?
