Do people in China want Chinese parts and despise American made parts?

So got my new 99 Xj today, here's my issue took it on a test drive and when the clutch is the whole way in, an awful noise comes and my head light and dash lights would dim. And my radio, turn signal and blower wouldnt work. Parked it in garage....turned it on after 5 min and everything worked.

Lots of quality parts made in South Korea in different industries.

Also for what it's worth, there is a difference in quality between Chinese brands. It all depends on "built to spec", same as Champion oil filters (FRAM spec and Mobil1 spec).

Huawei handset? Cheap piece of garbage
Apple iPhone? Solid, quality unit.

Both made in China! Well maybe some parts in Taiwan

(Note I'm not encouraging anybody to send their hard earned cash into the abyss in a one-sided trade relationship, just providing some food for thought)

Going to need to describe the noise... was it like a belt squealing? A bearing screaming? A witch performing a hex?

I don't know much about how lockers work so... without taking off the diff cover is it possible to find out if you have a locker in there? And then of course if it is possible, how? And finally later on this summer when i do fluids (if I do indeed have a locker) is there a way to tell which brand easily?
Thanks for bearing with my noob locker questions.

Jack up the rear end of the jeep so both wheels are off the ground. Spin one wheel and look to see what direction the opposing wheel is spinning in. If the wheels spin the same direction, its either locked/posi. If you turn one wheel and the other goes the opposite way, its an open differential.

Awesome thanks, but I just realized that I forgot to mention that I was referring to my front diff. I guess I would use this same technique for the front?

Is this a bone stock 90' cherokee? Does it act like it has a locker when turning?
