Whats the breaking point for being able to jump start an xj, its been on a trickle charger since 10 am and just tried jumping it and no fire. Or has my battery just given up the ghost? Plugs are literally a day old and changed one at a time so i didn't mess up the order, i can hear the fuel pump prime but all she does is crank.

CHECK OIL LIGHT Help Please~ Yellow block illuminated on right side of dashboard
Its a 1999 2 door Cherokee 4.0 v6 with 4 wheel drive
Symptoms:
-Temp takes a while to warm up to 190, it rarely gets up to 210
-Gas mileage down to about 18 (from 20 or 22)
-Smells like its burning rich on fuel
-Last week but not this one oil level gauge would drop at stops.
I tried:
-Replacing engine coolant temp sensor on oil block
-Replacing radiator cap
-Topping off coolant
There are no visible oil or coolant leaks. The radiator fan guard is missing, but it has been for 4 seasons. The radiator tube (rubber) looks to be old, but functional. Could be the water pump? Some other sensor? Serpentine belt replaced last year.
Thank you for your input!

lol yes, HOWEVER if you anticipate that in the future a dual battery setup with a proper isolator technically will prevent that from being a problem. (Drain the overnight dome light battery, prevent further drain on the starting battery.) It's a hell of a workaround but hey it's technically possible lol.
You check for spark? Wire could be broken

yes, i believe it is related to the thermostat or radiator. or the water pump. do you know what to look for/test for? do i have to disassemeble the serpentine belt to get in there?
it is a v6; story goes that these jeeps were built for the airforce and auctioned off in 2003. previous owner drove it into a fence or something he just needed some quick cash. i needed a vehicle asap. a happy trade that one. had 150K miles but i could feel the engine and transmission were awesome.
total workhorse. highway, dirt road, freezing/scorching weather, 4wd, road trips, hauling work supplies and band rigs, it does it all. i even threw a futon in the back and lived in there for a few weeks when i hit hard times!
Thanks for the invitation to the forum!!!

If it is a V6, it is a 2.8 ltr and not a 4.0. I am also feeling that it might be your coil. Check each spark plug cable individualllly to make sure you are getting a spark.
