This might be where im confused. The guy at autozone said to just insert it and begin wrenchng it in. When u say "tap" do u literally mean to tap on it and push it in farther? And i know the angle was slightly off when we got it in there a ways and i know that its supposed to be dead straight.
You do realize don't you, that the hole for the sender is on a bit of an angle?

Hey everyone getting ready to the v8 ZJ steering swap and just wanted to make sure the ends are going to fit okay in my XJ knuckles without reaming?

Seriously, do your self a favor and find the square ez out. The fitting is brass, the head is steal. The fitting therefore is softer and should come out. I deal with broken brass fittings all the time at work and I never have one I cannot get out with the square ez outs.
I've been trying all day to remove and I've only managed to remove some of the brass around the top. It's incredibly frail and brittle. It looks damn near melted to the thing. Plus It's about paper thin.
Thanks guys I'll try one last time tomorrow if I can find some square ones. Then I quit.

Alright although I don't see how a square one will be any better than one that is round (like the hole) and reverse threaded.

Oh no I did not know that. Not sure how I'd know when I've been staring at the broken threads for the last 3 days unable to tell what it looks like under the head. I figured logically you would put a hole in vertically.
Thanks guys I'll try one last time tomorrow if I can find some square ones. Then I quit.
