I am in the process of collecting parts to convert my 2wd to 4x4. I came across a NP242 t/c really cheap out of a 99 cherokee. Will it work in my 01 with having to screw with wiring harness?

Yes mostly, the only difference would be you don't get the fancy Full Time light.

I noticed last night that my gauge lights dim when I apply brakes with the headlights on.
Bad ground or insufficient power?
I'm gonna sand the taillight ground today, but I don't know if that's connected to the cluster.

At high rpms when I'm not moving really anywhere (pulling out vehicle or climbing hills) my mech fan hits the metal part above the radiator and bends the fins on it as well as makes an awful noise lol... Bad passenger motor mount making the engine slide or what?
I installed a new fan clutch last April and it was a larger unit so the shroud wouldn't fit back on it and it was hard to install and get over the threads...
I'm tired of everytime I pull someone out it making that noise and I have to bend the fins back.

Sounds like what mine does.. Turn the music and heater off and listen for your idle (that is unless you have a tach like mine doesnt..) Mine does the same thing when it decided to randomly idle low like it sometimes does. Try tapping the gas a little when it does it and see if it goes away.

The part number is the XJ clutch and the sum bjtch was huge and a lot taller (3/4") when sitting on the mounting surface.

Wish my motor had a steady anything. All I can count on is repetitive backfiring at cruising RPMs. Just put in a new cluster with tach, but my idle and running are garbage til I get this figure out.
