Looks like they all have a nice tan/brown color to them, which is good. It's also kind of hard to judge now a days with all the additives they put in fuel. The color you see there, is more than likely the condition it was running at idle right before you shut it off. When I tell people to do a plug test on mc's. I tell them to get to a certain speed, pull in the clutch and kill the engine and coast to the side, then pull the plugs and read them. That will give the most accurate and real time reading.

Anyone know a good size for a tranny cooler. I see sizes from tiny ones to giant ones for massive hauling rigs. Width, length, and height measurements for it. And what brand is best? Flexalite? Hayden? B&M? I know my local oreillys carries hayden tranny coolers.

Probably, I think that's a good deal considering it comes with the fan. You can go to the junk yard and use just about any cooler. Find an Xj with a factory cooler and grab it.

Sorry, for all the posts.
Here's a 7 1/2" cooler. It will work with that fan.

Factory trans coolers aren't the best. I'd go aftermarket if you're gonna go through the trouble.

Need to top off my tranny fluid. The local AutoZone only sells one type of ATF fluid. Lucas.
Is this ok? It does not say Dex/Merc.
Actually, [URL="http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Lucas-Oil-1-qt-multi-vehicle-automatic-transmission-fluid-for-use-in-older-cars-new-cars-SUVs-and-trucks/_/N-25aa?counter=0&filterByKeyWord=transmission+fluid& fromString=search&itemIdentifier=853250_0_0_"]the AZ site says Lucas multi-vehicle ATF is not recommended for use in CVT, Ford type F, MB 236.12 and Allison TES-295, MERCONŽLV, MERCONŽSP and DEXRONŽVI. This is the only ATF that my AutoZone sells.
