One more question for you guys that have done full leaf packs when doing your lift.. I got full leaf packs for my 3" lift and the rear is sitting really high, it looks like ~5" of lift. I didn't prepare for that much lift so i'm getting some pretty crazy vibes.. how long till my leaf packs settles closer to 3"?? I had an aal setup before the leaf packs and there were zero vibes.

Where'd you get the coils and packs from?
If the rears are brand new I'd give em a couple weeks to settle down.
It looks like you're sitting at about 4" right now.
I dont think you'll get vibs from that height, but you do need some bigger tires.

Got my whole lift from a local 4x4 shop, was told it was rough country, shocks are generic. I had an AAL in the first place.. for about a week, then got a good deal on the leaf pack so i bought them. When i did the lift i dropped the t case as well. And when i was running the AAL it sat about even with the front and there were no vibes to speak of.
EDIT: tires will be coming in the next couple paychecks! 31x10.5!

i'd suggest getting 32s if you can, they're only marginally more expensive than 31s, but are decently bigger.
31s look kinda ghey on 3" if you ask me, I say trim the fenders and go 32s.
I'm sick of my 3" with 31s

Yeah right after i got them installed i called up the shop and accused them of giving me the 4.5" packs from rough country, but they claim they are the 3" so whatever i guess. I had 32's on my previous xj and loved them, but i'm just worried about clearance in the front, especially cause i will be using stock wheels for now.. what do you think about the clearance issues of 32's on the front?

Newbie
I need a piece of advice here.
can anyone tell me if it's safe to use a regular heater hose in place of the CCV tube? I am talking about the one that is closer to the firewall, the one that gets the gasses into the manifold.
It is normally plastic and mine broke and I was thinking to just clamp on some radiator/heater hose and run it like that. I made sure the seals are tight, but what I wonder is whether the hose will be heavy duty enough? I don't wanna see it melt or something.... would the gasses and oil that runs through damage it? plus the temperature...Please help!
Thanks

On the trail with 31s or 32s and no bumpstops you'll have the same problem where they'll tear up your fenders at full stuff.
I tore up a pair of front fenders out wheeling with 31s, replaced them and cut the replacements for clearance, they come close but dont touch the fenders at full stuff now.

It'll be fine. That area doesnt get nearly hot enough to worry about using rubber hose.
