Teflon tape does not prevent grounding. Also oil conducts soooooo it will ground perfectly fine.

It's the split year. You have to check your connector type. Post a pic.

Yea that connection. There are threads here that show the 784 and 703 connection styles that you can match up.

It will be fine. Just don't go nuts with it. Me, I use Permatex #1 or #2.
