First to clear something up... Imaidiot.

Put new RC adjustable lower control arms on. Cranked em down with air, with them drooped, not on the ground. I drove it about 300 yards back to my creek, which is actually decent wheeling, considerable flexing. Then drove maybe 20 miles on the road. I now have a torque wrench and right specs I believe. I will correct this asap.

My question - do you think I have wrecked my bushings?

So why are there suggestions for a 195 degree stat? Would a 180 degree one work?

From my knowledge, 4.0s are picky with plugs. I bought NGKs and i believe those are pretty good. Not sure what everyone else uses but im pretty sure the cheaper ones are better for our engines. But dont quote me on this lol.

From what ive researched auto lites or champions plain old copper plugs are the best in the xj I got the autolites myself havent put them in yet tho

If I have zero clue about po maintenance and I have an '00 with the 0331 head what should I replace, flush check etc to prevent a cracks head at all costs or should i just save up and get the replacement head? Also how do u test ur fans to make sure they are working when theyre supposed to? Thanks!

New models like NGK, older models like copper top champions. I changed from platinum autolites to copper champions and seen no noticeable difference.

Standard maintainance. If anything do a coolant flush, proper oil changes. Make sure fan clutch and electric fan are in working order.

Get the 195* one not 180. 180 is too low for the xj. Will it work yes, but it will open too soon and you'll never get up to proper operating temps.

Could i just get another oem one for 190? I know its only 5 degrees but it seems counter productive lol.


Meh ive never experienced a difference with spark plugs regardless. Not sure what the differences would cause.

How do I make sure they are working? Besides waiting for it to get supet hot ive never overheat and my temp stays consistent at 210* but when I checked today my res was empty so I filled it to the line took almost a whole 50/50 gallon

Ifk if it matters either but when it was cold my heat sucked like barely warm enough to cut the chill and I was told the core or something had been replaced right before I got it...paid 4k for it I feel kinda jipped but oh well at least if I replace everything I know when and how it was done

For the first part of this. After a normal drive in your jeep, turn her off. Pop the hood and spin the Fan by hand it should have resistance to it. That means its good. It shouldn't spin more than a quarter IIRC, when hot. The aux fan you should here kick on at 218* and turn off at 205-210.

As for the coolant, when was the last time you had to fill the res. have you done an oil change to check the oil. And check for leaks around the radiator
