You need a front axle, 2 new drive shafts, the shifter linkage, a transmission, and a transfer case.

I could do that but I got help from a lot of people in here and although I'm still working on my XJ... Want to to say thanks and if they are in SA.. To come to Dave and Busters and I'll hook em up with a power card.

So i made an odd discovery. It was chilly this morning so i turned my air control stuff to defrost bwcause i had it in the off position, immediately my auxiliary electric fan kicked on. The engine was completely cold, then it continued to kick on every few minutes or so, but when i put the air setting thing to "off", the fan never comes on. Any ideas because i thought it was supposed to come on after the engine is well warmed.

I remember now that my fan always came on at what seems regular intervals regardless of engine temperature.

The fan will always run while the AC compressor is running. Did you have the AC button pushed in?

Looking to get a new paint job over the summer. My fenders and rockers and the hood as well are bedlined so those will be black, what color would look best? I was thinking orange! There aren't many orange xj's and I dig the look. I'm not too in love with the faded green..

Default Engine Issues

So im having some issues with my 86 cherokee with a 2.8l v6 engine! seems like the carb is not functioning properly and the vacuums may be connected wrong and most of the stuff has been pulled out! does anyone know what type of engine i can replace the v6 with that will bolt to the a904 transmission that does not have emissions?

Every engine has emissions, its part of the combustion process. But you can replace the 2.8 with a 3.4 from a camaro or the like. More power and a much much much better engine.

Just like this. As far as I can tell the AC is not on lol. And the fan speed is on the lowest setting, although I only have 2 settings, super low, and jet propulsion.

EDIT: and it doesn't stay on either, just comes on every few minutes for a bit then goes off. But it does it regardless of what the engine temp is.

A/C pump comes on with the defrost mode as well. As for your fan settings, blower resistor.

So I guess I'll always leave it on defrost so my fan actually comes on.
And ya I'm sure my resistor is out since when I had the dash apart looking for my last electrical gremlin, I saw the black melted side of it. Too lazy to get a new one at the time.

Welcome to the forums. The only coolant hoses that run to the firewall (back wall) should go to your heater core. The lines that run to your radiator are transmission cooling lines. Ok.... so what I thought was the problem, has nothing to do with the problem..lol.. I have a leak coming from the top rad hose on the passenger side. Thought there might be a hole, so I cut the hose, got a new clamp and stuck it back on..... Still leaking... Not sure if I just need to tighten the clamp more. I'm afraid if I tighten it too much, it will crack the plastic fitting coming from the radiator.
On the flip side, it might be the rad fitting that's cracked....
