Sorry, I didn't click the link. I meant to point out that putting a cone filter in place of the factory airbox just brings in the same warm air.

Slicks are terrible tho. Dont get me wrong i liked driftin a lil but with a vehicle prone to rollovers i wasnt all that enthusiastic about it. lol
idle issues
So ive dont the wires plugs rotor and dist cap. Also oil change fuel and air filter. Ive cleaned out throttle body and the IAC. still have a rough idle. Ive got 2 codes. 42 and 51. 51 says something about bad O2 sensor. Said that would cause rought idle when hot and bad drop in MPG. Any ideas?

Here's what you do to test your aux fan. Assuming you have a late model xj.
Buy a 470ohm resistor from radioshack. Get the jeep to operating temp and shut it off. While the jeep is off unplug the coolant sensor on the thermostat housing. Plug the resistor in the connector end, not the sensor. Make sure the both ends of the resistor are touching a terminal. Then turn the ignition on. Your temp guage should read roughly 235 deg and the aux fan should run.... By doing this your testing the fans whole circuit relay and all. If the fan comes on you know everything is good.

That would surly test the workings of the fan itself and that power is going to it. Now to test if higher coolant temps trips the fan on I would use your procedure. Just tossing out ideas.
