Just got a 2door, 1989 sport. Wasn't running, Distributor was shot, replaced it with New D/Capp/Rotor started right up.... Ran it up and down back roads for 5 minutes, started stalling, bucking, etc.....Sat overnight, started perfect this morning, idled for 10 minutes, ran back roads again, started stalling, bucking, etc..... Thoughts? Coil bad after it gets hot? O2 sensor in a open loop bad? It has no Cat....bad gas, was sitting awhile? Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!!!
Also, it has a 2 inch lift, the guy put tall tires on it, they rub slightly, but the jeep feels like it is wondering all over the road, didnt dare go over 40mph...Thoughts?

The wandering is just worn out parts that need to be replaced.

Ok so I picked up a used dana 44 last fall and I'm staring to look into getting it regeared and ready to be put in the cherokee. Right now it has welded spiders and 3.73 gears I think. I want to regear it to 4.56s and possibly a locker. Since its welded right now would I need to get a whole new carrier even it i did say a Aussie or spartan locker? Also where is the best place to pick up new gears and master install kits from?

Probably need another engine soon so I'm wondering what year of 4.0 will fit in my 1998 Cherokee. It's OBII so of course 96 and up and I don't want the 0331 so 96-99 but are those direct plug and play with my wiring harness and such? Also what about motors from wranglers 97-06?

It calls for a different starter but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Considering the 98 is half the price of the 2000 starter I'd imagine there is a difference. I'm not sure, never had a 2000.
Don't forget that you need a RHD starter.
