It was the only solution I could find other than getting another knuckle. It worked pretty good for me.

Gonna try a bolt and nylock nut. It'll be a tight fit but that's all you can do really

Is it the top or bottom bolt? If it's the top its easy, mine was the bottom and it wasn't fun.

Lol I was actually gonna try that with mine, but it was late and I didn't feel like experimenting. Already had the nut and bolt.

got a used starter from a 98 from a person at work
spent 2 almost 3 hours trying to thread the top bolt before taking it out and
realizing that the threads in the hole were stripped....BUT
since i had already converted the clip connector to the o ring like the pre 98s
i was able to buy a new starter for 65$ instead of 140$ and i got it on in less than 10 mins lol! i also cant wait to get a lift cuz if my ***** had been bigger i never would have gotten under there lol

how dumb is that just because the connector is different its 80$ more NO THANKS!

So took the old 89 out for a ride today and didn't even touch the NSS and drove great for about 5-6 miles then same thing happened lost power to the axle and stopped reprimmed the motor and started kinda rough but once it started ran like a champ again. So I was wondering could re problem be fuel injectors not giving the motor enough gas? If not what could it be? Like I said ran great then while it was moving all of a sudden it was like the tranny was in neutral so I am at a loss right now of what it could be please help me I am about ready to just junk this thing because its just one thin after another.

Sounds like intermittent CPS failure. I know someone suggested that. Did you test it?

Have you verified fuel pressure? Id start with verifying pressure, then test thongs like the cps and so on.
