I took a look at the fluid and it is still like it was when I put it in the tranny with the change if filter and gasket.

Full shaft SYE replaces the main shaft. The 21/23 business is the input gear, which is separate. Otherwise you'd never get into 4LO

It was doing this problem before I changed any of the fluid or gasket or filter it was worse before all of this I couldn't drive it at all I literally had to limp it home that time and now it still try's to drive just slips out and acts like it is in neutral

Default stock front brakes dana 30

I got an 88 xj after the po had jousted with a rock wall . Wasn't sure if the front axle [d30] was bent so i found a good deal on cl I think out of a 92, complete except the rotors and calipers. Anyway long story short the calipers and rotors i have off the 88 don't seem to fit.I've lost my chilton book but the hardware I marked and bagged off the 88 does not seem to cross over. Is this just the jeep gods way of telling me to go with the wj upgrade or do I just need the older xj knuckles Thanks Gary

Swap them... the hole in the tail housing should be the same.

I'd just buy new calipers and rotors for a '92 and your hardware as a core

Sounds like you need a new transmission.
